SIG Tourney last night. This was the only spot I wasn't quite sure about.

We're 5 or 6 hands in so no reads.
    Blinds 25/50
    Stacks: All 6500(ish)

Guy in MP makes it 150 to go.
    Button re-raises to 300.

I look down at JJ in the SB.
What do I do now and what's my plan for the rest of the hand?

call, check the flop and play the hand cautiously. prob c/call a reasonable bet on a rag flop and c/fold to a second barrel.

    also, A+ title.

My instinct says to rereraise to 1000 to isolate, then to bet pot sized bets until you're ai, but I've been in this situation all too often where my JJ/QQ/KK runs into a higher pp.

So i'd probably go with what captain tom said.

yea at that stage just flat call - and take it from the flop....
if you ever happen to be on the same table as those guys every again - raise... did you see some of the hands - shocking -

dont' quite understand why you said - " good chance higher pair out" - why is that? -

the button raise is also weak if you think about it....

bad abc players generally arent familiar with light 3 betting.

generally when i play against poor players in live donkaments they'll happily call raises with all sorts of crap, but need a hand to 3bet.

    edit tom got there first

Yeah, this is a case of "Set or forget".

Yup I just called. MP called too. Flop came Q high with two clubs.
I checked it, MP bet it and the button called so I mucked.

Thought it might've been a bit passive on my part at the time but I didn't particularly like raising either.
