Laptop CD/DVD drive not working

    For the last few months my CD/DVD laptop drive has stopped working. WHen i put a cd in it makes a whirring / clicking noise and does nothing. On the my computer screen it does not even update the icon with the movie name, just remains at the disk drive name. So can someone tell me how to fix it?? Or alternatively where I can buy a new drive. Cheers and thanks everyone

    Will it read other types of media apart from DVDs? You can probably pick up a replacement at Komplett.ie.

    having the same problem with my pc

    no dvd or cd or audio cd is being recognised by my pc. when i go into device manager the status says it's working properly.

    any advice as to where to go next?
