I dont know if this is in the right place but anyway quick question, when a thread get a bit crappy or the op is an annoying f*****r what does posting pics of cats mean?

Personally, I think the cat pics are a way of saying we're not taking you seriously anymore, or we're not listening to you now. It can be mocking/parodying a user or such. I suppose it depends.

I knew someone would post a pic of cat here, just in case im not trying to be annoying or anything i just saw it on a few threads and was curious thats all.

rory, it could as wel be pictures of different kinds of tea cups. Cat pictures are just the trend that has taken hold of the internet right now, it will pass in a couple of months (except for a few devotees) and something else will take it's place.

Personally while I love caturday, I'm hoping for a bit of a resurgance in the Hoff pics.

With a thread title like "Pictures of cats" it simply cannot be avoided. It's not to say you're being annoying in this instance.

the posting of cat pictures means the poster is a nerd. the 'funnier' the cat pic the nerdier the poster basically. Every cat picture posted ups these peoples virtual rep while also bringing down their real life rep. As Karl has helpfully illustrated. He is a legend of boards but can hardly leave the house for the nerd attacks.
