a friends computer hard-drive broke the other day, got some of the data off it with a BartPE cdrom. Hard drive is an old'ish SATA 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 and the PC is a HP Pavillion.

Can i get one of the new SATA II drives (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=320709) , Whats the difference between SATA and SATA II, I have heard SATA/SATA II are backward compatible but not 100%
