    Hi all,

    I am looking to buy an external USB Hard Drive for my laptop. I have seen that most of the ones around 500GB need to be plugging into the AC. I am looking for a USB powered device, so does anyone know what is the largest USB powered external hard drive out there?

    it would be a 300gig one.

    only place i've seen selling them is... OCUK

    then you'd have to find a 2.5" usb enclosure for it too, which may be difficult as the height of the above drive is bigger than the standard 2.5" laptop drives.

    Cheers for the info! Might be more hassle than it's worth looking for a USB enclosure.

    I've seen WD make 250GB USB powered hard drives so might go for one of those...
