Hello - moved to Galway recently and don't really know anyone here.

Does anyone have any tips about meeting people and making friends?

Seriously, we are a good crowd. Post here some more, initiate a pub visit or such and I'm sure there'll be a few boardsters there.

Other than that, take a course, get a local, ...

Yes, PM me. We can meet up, and worst case scenario you'll only have to pretend to like me for a half an hour or so and then we can politely go our seperate ways.
