Hello - moved to Galway recently and don't really know anyone here.

Does anyone have any tips about meeting people and making friends?

I'll be your friend if you buy me a pint :)
Seriously, we are a good crowd. Post here some more, initiate a pub visit or such and I'm sure there'll be a few boardsters there.
PM louisecm or 440Hz, both new to Galway too.

Other than that, take a course, get a local, ...

We should organise a Galway boards beers!

Of course by "we" I mean "someone else" :) But I'll come along alright, I'm relatively new to Galway.

yeah I've never gone to the boards beers, & I really should get out more.

I could do with more than one friend and a few aquaintances.

Working from home does limit meeting more people.

Join a class somewhere. Dance classes in the Menlo Park apparently, two of the girls from work are asking me to go.

Boards beer sounds relatively good. Only when I'm not working, of course.

That's literally all I know, apart from that. I'd say try ringing them and asking for more info.

Yes, PM me. We can meet up, and worst case scenario you'll only have to pretend to like me for a half an hour or so and then we can politely go our seperate ways. :)

In order to stop this descending into a mass rejection of dates, Friday week. You hairy Goliath.

I suggest Friday 31 August 9pm in Blue Note smoking area. Wear something camo.
Or the day before, either suits me anyway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 829 ✭✭✭MattKid

    I can't make the 24th or between the 29th - 5th.

And you wouldn't want to miss out on meeting me, honest

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 289 ✭✭louisecm

Yeah, I'm becoming a pain in the hole now, as I can't do that Friday because of the wonder that is Electric Picnic. Mayhaps you should all go on without me.
