New MTB forks

Bought this bike last year and love it to bits but it really needs upgraded forks. I've €200 to spend and have no clue where to start. The bike is used general commuting and recently I've been trying to get back into riding up the Dublin "mountains".


First and most obvious question, is €200 too much to spend on them for that bike?

It's a reasonable amount to spend and a decent fork can make a huge difference to your off road riding. I'd recommend something like the Marzocchi MX Comp or MX Pro.

Thanks Morgan, it seems the forks worth buying around this price range are the Rock Shox Tora 318 or the Marz MX pro

I'm leaning towards the Tora's at the moment, they seem to get the most praise across forums. Do you have experience with either of them?

For a number of years Marzocchis have been seen as more reliable in Irish conditions (better seals, less maintenance required). I believe recent Rockshox have improved a lot in this regard but I'm not sure if they're up to the Marz standard yet (I hope they are since I just bought some Revelations...). I think you'd be safe enough getting any of those listed.
