have any boardsies been struck by lightning? and have any boardsies ever won the lotto? I am just wondering, they say you have x more chances of being struck by lightning than you do winning the lotto, so I just wanna see what the ratio is on here

I won the euromillions about six months back.....only a tenner mind. I've never been struck by lightning but I have been struck by lighting, my parents have some amazing light fittings in their house. Truly spectacular.

Apparently if you do the lotto more than two days before the draw, there's a greater chance of you dying in the meantime than actually winning it

I won €30 in the lotto the first time I played. I figured I'd take my winnings, so I've never played since....I was never struck by lightening, but have had a number of nasty shocks in my time, mostly due to my own stupidity. I now work as an electronic engineer.......who in their right mind would hire me?!

Well considering a lot of those concern dying from one thing or another, I doubt many people on here have had these happen to them. What defines a shaving injury?

560 users currently on boards.ie. Lets be generous and say that there are 10 times that, who are active. Lets say 6000 active boards users. Given that the chance of been struck by lightning is way more likely than winning the lotto at 576,000 to 1, the chances of any one responding (truthfully) that they have indeed being struck by lightning are 96 to 1?

That's if they survived the lightning strike of course... so this thread is fairly pointless! But hey, it is AH.

I don't think those that were struck by lightning will be responding. Maybe all those that weren't struck should respond. A bit of simple maths will then work out how many were struck.

I was having a BBQ a few weeks ago and it started raining. Being the genius that I am I was stood outside with an umbrella when a bolt of lightning hit the BBQ. Just missed me by about 2-3 feet. Trousers were ruined and the sausages were ****in burnt too.
