your best bet might be to split. those quads aren't selling well at all on adverts.ie atm with the current cost of the Q6600, maybe put it up on ebay, or try some other tech forum forsale sections.

If splitting i'd be interested in the monitor ;)

Its a bad time to be selling alright, most people have spent their money upgrading already or are going on holiday. Plus the price of this hardware is plummeting in value atm. Bad DX10 reviews and next gen consoles getting all of E3's attention aren't helping matters either.

Yeah I reckon its definitely a bad time to trying to sell something like that. Look at RobertR trying to sell this monster  No decent offers at all, just people asking to split.

Thats the pitfall of building such a high-end machine. They devalue so quickly. I tend to just build every year or two with mid to high end components. My most recent was an upgrade from a single core AMD 4000+ 2.2Ghz and 2gb ddr ram to an Intel c2d 6420 2.13Ghz and 2gb ddr2 ram.

Could probably do the PSU (assuming it is decent ;) ) and a graphics card in a few weeks if the price was right. Would love to say I could even consider the processor but I doubt you will be marking it at a price that would compete with the Q6600 new at the mo.

Doubt you will have any probs if you split.

It's a bad time to try selling the old chips....some people just don't understand that the newer ones are better for less....we don't care that the old chips weren't reduced, the whole point was to encourage sales of the new ones, it doesn't mean they retain their old value for god sake!!! Sorry, bit of a rant there. Some people really just don't grasp it. I've noticed on boards lately it's impossible to sell any half decent machine, not just a monster. The only way you'll shift that is split here or sell it elsewhere like the Buy and Sell or something....

Funny thing, I started a thread here looking for advice on buying a monster XPS from Dell...:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=53707057#post53707057

I may be interested in this rig - can you possibly post some pics please? Is it Vista OS?

    All others here,
What are your thoughts on the Dell specs posted on my thread (or the second rig posted there) against this rig here...?

    Thanks in advance!
