    Hi,
With the dollar gone so low I am looking at getting some gear from the US. Can anyone recommend a good online retailer that sells in dollars and ships to Ireland.
    Thanks

I'm afraid I've never bought tackle from the US but there is a post on http://salmosalar.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=tackleroom&action=display&thread=1185088028 with plenty of info on the matter!

please note the fishing styles of us are quite different than those from most of europe except for pike and game fishing. most here have never heard of a boilie nor even seen a good carp or barbel rod. every time I break out my uk fishing gear I get stares and curious question : where I got those long funny rods? and why am I tying those little rocks (boilies) to the hook. gets quite funny at times. also hard to explain my fasination with european bank fishing and my adaptation of the style for my fishing here in the us.

but there is always BASSPROSHOPS and CABELAS. the big 2 mailorder shops. and theres a lots of smaller shops some specialising in different styles of fishing. mind you look up fishing as Angling will give you more european shops.

I have to second onionhead's recommendation for Cabelas - I still order from them all the time and they ship here no problem. Their own-brand stuff is pretty high quality as well - I got a pair of waders around 4 years ago from them that have lasted me through many trips over barbed wire and through brambles without a leak. They're as good as the Simms ones but about a quarter of the price.
