    5 Reasons to go.....

    1. Admin Fee is huge - €15 bank holiday weekend
    2. Loads of little bars - Cant get to any of them.
    3. Price Inflation - Drink Prices increase over the course of the night.
    4. Classical Music - No current music.
    5. Young guns - ideal for 15-18 year olds.

    Good Points:

    (Still working on this part).

Was dragged across to the Fiddlers a few weeks ago... Never again. Rubbish dance and chart music at the back and even worse 'classic hits ' at the front. If I'm not mistaken they played Declan Nerney at one point. It was that bad................................

I grew up in Carrick, pretty much in the town center and I've worked in The Fiddlers for a few years. The only good thing about working there was the fact that I was getting paid to listen to the s**t music they play in there week-in week-out. Any requests you throw at the DJ are ignored since all he does is record a CD and let it play for the night. If a new hit comes out he just adds it to the other crap he plays. The problem is that ANY hit will stay playing for MONTHS and MONTHS if not YEARS and YEARS.
Perfect example: About 4 months ago I was visiting the parents and a few old friends asked me out for a pint. The craic was good and we wanted to continue the drinkin so across the road we went for a few more. First song I heard after walkin in - wait for - Saturday Night by Wigfield! Enough said!

I seen enough last Saturday night in the place when the bouncers started hitting women. A few ended up in a bad way, no doubt the cctv tapes have been wiped, about time the place was shut.

    +1

Thats the last time I go to that place again.

Is it me or is the underage crowd getting bigger and bigger each week.

Young girls and boys (underage) involved in sexual content in the dark corners of the upstairs.

Lads stone drunk falling all over the place. Girls in even a worst state, i suspose thats their business at the end of day.

Toilets are a disgrace, walking on piss and water and more.

Music at the weekend was very very poor everyone was saying it. DJ hasnt got a clue what to play. I could a better mixed tape of the radio that what that he plays.

Time for some comppetition me thinks.

I use to like going to the Fiddlers but since the summer its taken a real dive.

I think we're just getting old kluivert... I find myself in the Green Room most nights now because it seems that there is a younger crowd elsewhere. The only other old crowd that is around is in the old part and the music in there alone is enough to make me feel sick.

Green room is fine, elsewhere... Pish.

thought the had scrapped the idea of opening the nightclub , they brought in one of the managers from silence to run club but he has since returned to silence

anyhow there was ultimate fighting in that place when it was running , and i did work in the oasis for 4 years , it wouldn't last 6 months if it opened it is too far out of a town , the same reason it went down hill before it became engima

  • Registered Users Posts: 313 ✭✭auditek923

it would last because all the druggies would go there again. they came from all over the place last time it was open

I can confirm that the Carrick Court Hotel is definitely NOT closing down!

The music in the tavern in Monaghan town...in the Westerna Hotel is rubbish!!! it is the same stuff played week in & out from when it opened. You ask the DJ to play something different...he will not listen.I believe the same people own the tavern & the fiddlers!!!

Inflated prices in the Forum also!!!

Intended going to the fiddlers some night soon...not now!!!
