Thats right my mam in her 70's needs broadband, I kid you not.
What I want to know is the options for dublin, it would have to be simple once set up and without to many hicups !
I can set it up but it will have to run smoothy..
Download limits are not an issue ;) she gave all that up in the 50's :)
Price within reason also not an option !

I think wirless but am open to suggestions..
Any ideas or options with info experience appreciated..

I am not based in Dublin and in addition I cant get broadband where I am located so I am out of the loop when it comes to the options in dublin and how they fair out against each other..
the last time I was in dublin I used UTV hardwired broadband..

Cheers man.. that would involve giving them the phone calls as well?

I am just thinking out loud here, she is with the dreaded Eircom and has also got the phonewatch for the house alarm..

Does that make any difference if she goes with a broadband package from eircom ?

also does eircom have a wireless option for BB ?

So many questions so little time :p

Sunny, I take it your mum is getting the line rental allowance ? If so then go with the fixed line option. There used to be a sticky knocking about on how to combine BB and phonewatch, but the telco will send someone out to do it if you need help.

Yes you get a free wireless netopia router when you sign up.
I'd recommend you go with eircom if she already has phonewatch etc with them, it would save her the stress of having to cancel everything to do with eircom and then connecting to a different provider which could take weeks.

    Here are the available packages:

there is a specific ref on the eircom site that if u have fone watch and u takee thierr BB they will send a techie out so i would be going with eircom to keep it simple.
