Got my membership card in the post today but
the membership number on it is different to the membership
number I got when I first joined.

    I am assuming that this
is OK and not a mistake and that it may have something to
do with getting a whole new system in where your badge
acts as a swipe card to resistor ya when you arrive at the range.

Will ask next time I am up. Nice to see all good news on the newsletter.
Looking forward to seeing the new website in action.

My number is different too. Sounds like things are going to get even better

Same here, looks like everyone's getting a new number.

I see extra safety precautions are in place for the pistol range too,
as you need your card to actually access the pistol range.

Dunno if that will be a minor annoyance for pistol shooters or not
but at least it will give them a bit or privacy where they wont have people
wandering in and looking over their shoulders and causing a distraction them.

For anyone that is interested I have it scanned.
(dont see any copyright warnings so I am guessing its ok to post)
Good news all round. It did not mention anything about our membership
numbers changing but as long as it does not effect anything its not something
    to fuss or worry about:

Anyone think the line which advises that ..."We have changed our system for member registration" along with the fact that many members have noticed the changes , might be relevant..?

Towards the end of the note it advises that all questions regarding membership be addressed to the Secretary (Jim )

So...ring him ...or ask him the next time you see him.

as bullets says its no big deal and I'm sure Jim will fill us in at the weekend. From my own reading of it I took it to mean that from Spetember 1st we will have to swipe in (which they refer to as registering).

I don't understand you, what big deal??? You said yourself in the second post your number had changed. You've lost me. Honestly, who made a big deal?

My number has changed. Don't see it as the end of the world though. Was at range last weekend. Number change didn't affect me in any way. New system, new cards, same range and facilities.

still don't know why you thought someone made a big deal, it was just an innocent question. Don't think anyone else saw it as the end of the world either

going to the range myself sunday and will ask Jim when I see him.

Maybe you should have done this in the first place ?

Maybe you should have done this in the first place ?

What? I didn't post this topic, why is that aimed at me?

What is your problem, someone comes on here, asks and innocent question about a club (with a lot of members posting here) and you go asking "why make a big deal".

The only one making a big deal here is you bunny shooter.

Maybe the reason the question was asked here is because it is such a trivial matter it didn't warrant a phone call to the club secretary.

This forum is a joke someone comes asks a simple question and gets this sort of attitude from fellow club members.

Well did you ask Jim then ? Cause I know you were there ................

Did yourself and bullets ever consider not discussing club business on an open forum such as this all the time ? ?

That's very funny of you. First you ask me a question about club business and then you ask me to not talk about club business on an open forum.

Why are you worried about asking such an innocent question on this forum?

    I don't understand where you're coming from.

Guys the original reason I posted the first post was to see if it was
just myself that had a different number or did other people have different numbers.
I noticed a number change and I DID read the letter but it mentioned only that the
system for registration was changed. It did not say members membership numbers were
changed. Its a small small tiny thing that I did not want to go ringing and bothering people about.

I Am sure the club secretary is busy enough and did not want to bother him
with a trivial matter. It was much easier to stick a post on here and see i
f anyone else got a new number too.
Considering other members read the boards here and
may have been wondering about the same thing.
If they replied and had a number change which they did it put my mind at ease
and I knew something was not wrong.

Was delighted to get a card and also a letter with GOOD news seeing the place is
getting better and better, my original post was not written to be negative in anyway
    quite the opposite.

The thread has degenerated into personal jabs, peoples words being twisted,
and general pettiness to the point where the atmosphere has become hostile
    and troll like.

If nobody has any objections I would suggest the Mods lock the thread,
as it will only result in us starting to bitch at each other and generate
    animosity between us.
