corolla timing chain

    i just bought my first car a 2000 toyota corolla, its an english car and has 60,000 miles on it. whats the storey wit the timing chain when shud it be replaced? cheers lads

    is there a chain or belt on the corolla?
    i think its a Belt needs doing soon

    if it's a VVT-i (it should be if it's 2000, but there were a tiny number of standard 16v models reg'd in 2000) then it has a chain, which doesn't need changing till it starts making noise - which is ages away

    why post this question in the modified motors section though?
