Dental - Whitening cost+cap

    Hi,
Looking at getting my teeth whitened via local dentist. It will be via the impression, make a mould up, put in top teeth every night, then bottom.
Added complication. Broke front tooth off wall @ age 15, and cap put on.
The dentist advises this needs to be replaced, as colour will not match - sounds reasonable.
My question is - how much to replace a cap? Not sure if he said crown or cap -it's my front tooth.
Also what should I expect to pay for the whitening?
    Also any other advise?

Don't pay a dentist to whiten your teeth it costs hundreds. Just go get em cleaned and buy whitening strips (crestwhitestrips.net) ...these ones really work they contain peroxide just like the dentist uses get the exact same result.. i have a small cap on my front tooth and used them and you can't tell the difference my teeth are like hollywood white!!!... If it is a large cap ur getting whiten them first then get the cap to match

    Hope this was helpful
