Any word from this. Crashed out by getting 20BB in with K 6 PF against AK in a retarded spot. 13K for first. Nice.

    bah

edit to say - really disappointed with myself after this tourney. Should have gone much deeper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭strewelpeter

Broke up at 5:15 with 16 left, 9 to be paid (100 profit for 9th  ), 4 paid ok, 1 well paid.
blinds will be 1K 2K 200 ante when we go back at 6:30 tonight
I'm on life support at 22K and card dead and have been since not long after the first break, I've been getting a few bits and pieces to keep me alive .

been on the same table as Wes (Bottomfeeder) all night , he's been yo yoing all night and probably has as many chips now as hes ever had at about 65K.
Jay has about 85 so as you can imagine hes playing really passive when he has position
Nicky O'Donnell is at the same table also in the 60 - 80 K range
Collette (Smurph) is on the other table with about 50K, I'm not sure who else is on there other than Conor Smyth.
Short and all as I am there are three or four shorter but I guess I'll have to get lucky not to be in the Double chance Tourney before the 1K 2K level is over.

... Hey did no one find the video link that I posted on the poker forum funny? its on page 2 now I thought you'd all enjoy it.

    Quick update:

16 players left, average stack is about 46k.

their going to repeat the last level tomorrow- 800 / 1600 ante 200

    some chip counts.

    Vera Duffy = 40k

    Jay O Tool = 85k

    Nicky O D = 40k

    Wes F = 42k

    Tony [strewelpeter] = 22k

    Steven [Scottish lad] = 85k

I’m sure Smurph is still there...

There's a couple of small stacks in there but everyone else is way above the average, so i have a lot of work to do tomorrow.

Just a quick report for now....

    77 Runners.

    Prize pool : €38,500.

There are 16 runners left at the end of Day 1.

    Chip Leader : Jay O'Toole 90,000.

    1st Prize : €13,500.

Play resumes at 6.30pm on Sunday.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

Michael Muldoon was unlucky not to have 20% of the chips in play. He was playing fantastic stuff and was up to over 120K then ran his JJ into 33 AIPF for an 85K pot and the crabs came good. Sick.

I was chip leader early on yesterday with 63K then when I changed tables I got giddy and dumped a **** load. Don't know how I didn't tilt it all away. Been all in at least 3 times after the flop with no hand without getting a caller.

Thank to Michael's bad beat and play tightening up on the last level yesterday it's still anybody's tournament.

Savage blind structure. Standard of play way above average. Best event I've played all year except for the payout structure which IMO will encourage a deal 3/4 handed which is always a bad thing.

Just back home after this tourny. I got heads up with Michael Muldoon who hit some sick cards as well as some super play to knock out 3 of the final table. I must say Michael made a super call on the river for a substantial pot believing his AQ was good and it was.

However Michael did also get slapped in the face by the deck when he hit runner runner 44 to cripple Full Tilt guy. He also got involved in a massive pot with 66 and when he missed the flop and was allowed a free card he turned his set and got an all in... He obviously called asap... He had clashed with the chip leader and knocked him out to put him up over 380k with 770k in play.

The worst was yet to come when Michael clashed once again in a an all in pot when Wes (bottom feeder)'s KK was all over Michael's 44 only for Michael to hit a runner runner straight on the river. That was a tough one to take and knocked Wes out.

Obviously now a massive ship leader with 4 of us left and with over 60% of the chips in play it was gonna be a tough one to reverse.

Michael then knocked out Full tilt guy Warren after his 99 stood up against Warren's KJ and we were down to 3 with Me, Nicky O D and Michael left.

With the blinds now at 3k 6k 500 ante Nicky was left on about 55k and me with 125K. We clashed when it all went in with my A7 holding up against Nicky's KJ and we were down to heads up.

After playing about 5-6 hands heads up we decided on a deal and I took €10,000 for 2nd with Michael taking €12,100 and 1st place.

Overall I was only just ok with how I played yesterday but really happy with how I played it out today. Great structure and great tourny and well done to Alex n the crew for a great 2 days...

    Jay

Congratulations Jay, I was impressed with your play and I felt you used you Big Chip stack to good effect.

I didn't get going yesterday, Called a Short Stacks all in for 17K with AJ, on for him to have AQ, down to 19K and pushed with A2offsuit on the Button, called by AK, but 2 on the flop and 2 on the River doubled me up. Next Hand I get pocket 10's and do the standard raised to 6K, blinds are 800, 1600 with 200 ante, short stack goes all in for 5K and Michael Muldoon re-raises to 20K, I decided to push for all my chips here as he was raising every 2nd hand and using his monster stack to good use, he called (as one does with pocket Aces  ) Gone in 11th

Proceed to donk my chips off in the €100 double chance game, head was not in it at all.

How did i think I played. Well went into the game deciding that I was going to play tighty mctight, I mean I played so tight it was crazy. The only thing about playing like this is that you get no action when you have big hands. The only time I got paid off was when a new player came to the table and wouldn't believe I had a hand, even though everyone else at the table did. I decided play really tight day one, and if I was coming back for day 2 I could use my "reputation" to change my play up. cunning plan except for one hitch, usually someone was all in before the action even got to me.

Disappointed that I ran my 10's into Aces but sure that's poker. It was a great structure and excellent standard of play. Impressed with Michael Muldoon's play, he certainly seemed to know where he was in every hand he was involved in.

I also had Nicky O'donnell at my table for most of day 1 and even he commented on how few hands I was playing. He played a great game and showed a real sh*t cool bluff aswell..

The banter with Paddy "The Taximan" and Liam Flood was great craic aswell......

Delighted to come back for day 2, dissapointed not to get to the business end of the day but sure that's life........

Well played Jay. :) I think the best 3 players made the final 3. You played a perfect final table. Muldoon did get sick lucky in a few hands but is an an astonishingly talented tournament player. His call down with the nut-no-pair against Warren just made my head spin.

Peter did you take it down last night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,092 ✭✭✭Glowingmind

Peter did you take it down last night?

    Same question.

Or did the monster stack take it down?

Was hoping my luckboxing would take me past 6th, but it just wasn't meant to be.
Pretty disappointed with my performance, but couldn't account for the amount of times i ran into aces last night (5 times i think, only coming out the winner once)

No, finshed in 4th. Blinds got massive and nobody else at the FT had any interest in freezing them depsite me mentioning it numerous times. We were all even enough bar the girl who finished third (about 5bb seperating us).

Ended up flipping against the guy who at one stage had a massive chip lead at about 5am. I had raised with A9s and he went all in. After a bit of a tank I called and he tabled 77. Flop a sweet sweet AQ9, whamo 7 on the turn and no miracle on the river. Left with 2.5 bb and was in BB next had. Amazingly my 10 8 didn't hold up aginst A 10.

    Tournaments = Gerrrrarrrgghhhhh

I thought you were going to take that down from 3 tables out but you gotta win your coin flips! Its sick seeing that magical 7 coming though.

You should have busted out and jumped in the NL cash game and took Phil Gordons money!
