We found a 2-3 week old kitten in a ditch the other day and brought her home. Her eyes look a bit infected but they seem to be clearing up. What's the timeframe for bringing her to a Vet, getting her spayed etc?

You should probably bring her to the vet now for a look at her eyes. 2-3 weeks is extremely young to be away from her mother, so the vet will probably advise feeding her special food (ask them to recommend a special cat milk, as cow's milk can make cats ill which in such a young kitten could be fatal).

She can be spayed as early as 10 weeks - cats can start producing litters when they are 4 months old, so best to get her done before that if possible - sometimes your vet will refuse, but most now realise that it is perfectly okay to do an early spay - indeed, many vets recommend it.

If you have any questions on what you should be doing at each stage of the kitten's development, read some of the excellent care sheets and ask on the forum for advice at Kitten Adoption. Good luck and well done for taking this defenceless kitten in - she's one of the lucky ones :)
