Well just finished 6th year. Waiting for my results on Wednesday for the leaving, which will hopefully secure my place in Limerick School of Art and Design. I registered at Creative Ireland but I don't think they activated my account ? Can you see if the mods can activate it for me? I registered as wong and haven't made any posts yet.

Just to be safe, you'll have to diversify a bit, all your work is nearly of the same style. It's more like you're an artist than a designer. I mean, really good work, but you'll have to go out of your comfort zone a bit and try things like corporate design (design for businesses), user interface design (design of information boards, etc).

Maybe he doesn't! :) If you can get well enough known for a particular type of work then it can pay plenty of bills. :)

I agree it's a good idea to explore other styles and be flexible as a designer, but honestly, I don't think he's ever going to need to be a UI designer, rather he'll collaborate with someone else who's a specialist at that. He's skill is in generating visual imagery, and I think that's a great area to focus on, as there will always be work for talented people who can create visual styles, and themes which can be used in collaboration with other designers and art directors.

Yeah I do a lot of other stuff in college like brand identity, packaging etc.. My website only contains personal and commerical work. People generally hire me from what they have seen from my personal work.

It will be good to try other things in different areas though and I do agree with you there but I'm also going to play to my strengths and hopefully that will get me into an area where I am comfortable in.

    Thanks for the feedback!
