Guys just wondering would it be worth upgrading my 7800GT 256MB GDDR2 to a 8600GT 512MB GDDR3 or maybe throw a 2nd 7800GT in and run in SLI. Would either option be much of a benefit or would I be better of waiting on the 8800's to come down in price?

if you can pick up a 7800GT for around <= e100 i'd stick with SLI for the time being pending information on what PSU you have, what OS you are running and what the rest of your system specs are.

    Sorry specs are:
    Dfi LanParty UT SLI 939
    X2 3800 @ 2GHz but will be overclocking to 2.4Ghz
    2GB Geil PC3500
    Hiper Type-R 580W
    Vista Premium/XP Pro dual boot
    2 X 37GB Raptor Raid 0
    EVGA 7800GT CO

As L31mr0d pointed out it depends entirely on how cheap the 7800GT you can get.

Yes it will boost performance but a single 8800GTS 320 would still end up faster.

Thanks I was just wondering which would be the greater performance boost between the two options?

    The 8800GTS would be.
