Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Playing a 4-4-2 with Lampard as one of the central midfielder is dodgy enough in defence, but without Terry it's suicide :)
Is that 4-4-2 with wingers and Kalou / Pizarro up front ?

I hope so too I just hope the ref is fair and doesn't give the big side a helping hand although I doubt Utd will need it.

Fulham didn't look a bad team at all today. They definitely deserved to come out with a draw.

Absolute cracker of a goal by Kapo. They showed some highlights before the match of him banging in some similar goals, he really does have a great shot on him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

come on birmingham!!!! unbeliveable goal from Kapo. hope they can keep in it. I have two chelsea defenders in my fantasy team but I dont care once the drop points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

It's amazing to see Chelsea play wonderful attacking stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Kalou had a great bit of skill in front of goal when he brought it over the defenders head and then turned another just the shot was weak.

Great open football but I can see Drogba coming on to score the winner.

Kalou looks twice the player he was last season, when quite frankly, he was pants.

i thought doyle was supposed to be a decent keeper - has been at fault for the second and third goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

    Yes very poor goalkeeping

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

Must say though Chelsea are looking excellent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

SWP having the best game I've ever seen him play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭besty

    Come on Birmingham!

Don't know if I can see Chelsea conceding a third though! Good game.

There is nothing more anoying then watching terrible goalkeeping.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Shevchenko and Drogba will not get a game this season if Kalou and Pizarro play as well as this every game.

Have to feel sorry for Brum - a decent keeper and they'd have kept Chelsea at 1 goal. Doyle's having a bit of a nightmare out there, id say Chelsea are gonna run away with it from here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

Doyle is having a nightmare. He has been at fault for two of the goals.

Chelsea looking great. The bargain basement signings look to be settling in nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

All over. In reality, Chelsea were better than the scoreline suggested.

Reading keeping Utd at bay. John O'shea prolly coming on for Silvestre so Utd to win in last min with JOS goal then!

    Mike.

John O Shea the new Gary Doherty?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Selling Rossi and Alan Smith doesn't seem such a good idea now does it ?

Chances are JOS will score ! ;)

    it never did.

    Hopefully.

Reading doing very well to be fair, their defensive game has worked brilliantly.

never in a million years should that be a straight red, referee giving the game to utd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Another big decision for the top 4, you will see that tackle repeated in every game of the week. Awful decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,426 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Harsh - but it was a 'tackle' with the foot raised and studs showing - it is supposed to be a red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,500 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

Are there any proper strikers left on the pitch at all now?

edit- don't think it was a red either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

One foot to block the ball which was there, Tauren if thats a red you will see 10 of them every weekend.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 9,648 Mod ✭✭✭✭mayordenis

technically if you actually follow the letter of the law there would probably be at least 7/8 sending offs per match, the fact he had his studs showing was silly but it was his first tackle, it was only 1 leg not a downward motion(stamp) and it hit a leg in the air not a standing leg which would be breakable.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,346 ✭✭✭✭KdjaCL

Think the fact he was never getting the ball sealed his fate lino and ref could clearly see that, where his foot went was nowhere near the ball so red card.

Did he block the ball? NO! He completely missed the ball and, with a high foot and studs raised, he took the player.
