Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Unsecure Wireless Network

At the moment, I'm using a neighbours wireless network(they know and don't mind). The network is unsecure - i.e. I don't need a password to logon and anyone can connect.

    My question is:

If I want to access my internet banking or gmail can my neighbour see what I'm typing in as my password etc even though the webpages are encrypted? My neighbour has no access to my PC whatsoever.

    Thanks,

    Tom

If the sites are not secure (i.e. accessible over http and not https) then yes it's possible for your neighbour to get access to your info (Read this).

If you want peace of mind, get your own wireless network/BB and secure it.

Internet banking will be secure, gmail uses secure login to the best of my knowledge so wont be able to get your password but emails and chats aren't sent over a secure connection I think so it would be possible to see them. It doesn't require any great skill to do but at the same time isn't trivial so I wouldn't worry too much unless you have some reason to be suspicious.
