He hardly took it completely on himself to overrule everyone and take it. It was obviously decided before that he shoudl try one or two. Otherwise Gerrard hasnt got control on the pitch or is a poor leader.

A little bit off topic but does anyone have any footage of the first Besiktas game. On the telly t seemed like their crowd was unbelievable, with a call and response chant/wave all through the match. Could have been the position of the microphone or whatever but it came across well loud.

Nice start here btw. Was worried about SG for Sunday there:eek:

I think Rafa's subs will be interesting and could hint at the formation for sunday, especially if we get a 3rd.

I can see Bena getting the 90 tonight and not starting sunday, with Kewell coming off around the 60min mark to save him. Also Arbeloa coming off for Finnan to get a bit of match practice before sunday, with both starting then. Finally prob torres off for crouch, though could also see Lucas getting some game time.
