Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

y'know i wouldn't be at all surprised by a Cisse goal. Was a bit surprised they didn't start him even though he's not been playing great for them.

Kewell is playing great stuff again, finally really seeing the best of him in a red (well, black) shirt. All the same i want him off withtin the next 10mins with Babel on.

Kewell and Kuyt are playing super.

Guess Kuyt has gotten over his mare at Blackburn :)

When's the last time you saw three subs on by half-time?

    Nice to see Kuyt scoring.

    Kewell looking good.

I'd like to see Babel, Crouch and Lucas on for Kewell, Torres and Gerrard.

I wanted Liverpool to loose this game but after Dunphys warm up act I feel different ;)

    Mike.

It might be a joke about Dirk being 'the sheep' - a reference to his hair. If so it's whimsical.

Probably be Dirk and Torres on sunday so I'm happy to see him score, get his confidence up before his hattrick in 5 days:)

    Yossi's been poor tonight.

Yeah I heard the Shannon is great this time of year

Kuyt has been muck this season, if you are trying to tell me otherwise then you will get a reaction from me....A major LOL.

Because with the teams who are topping groups it's likely to be a massive game no matter what - Chelsea, Man Yoo, Real Madrid, Milan, Inter, Seville/Arsenal, and Barcelona.

    Who would ye take?

yeah id go with that, with the Babel and Crouch changes happening now, and waiting for the Lucas for Gerrard one for another 10 or 15mins just incase someone else takes a knock. Wouldnt even mind Gerrard playing the 90 and Finnan getting to come on for a run out before sunday. I really want him starting then.

been poor, but is a very decent player, was written off by a lot of people undeservedly.

better scoring record in the PL than berbatov. and works 10 times harder.

You're a few steps ahead of me with PMSL:confused:

But I see the other lad might have been right about you. Bye.

Well each to their own I suppose, but for me its more relevant that he was excellent before this season, and is playing great tonight. It signifies what we all knew were the issues, a serious temporary lack of form, and that he plays much better with Torres then on his own or with Voronin (which was the case during the period he was 'muck' for).

P.S I know what PMS is, but whats the L? Might explain the content of your posts though, (ba-dum-tish!) ;)

Kewell off for Aurelio, definitely starting on Sunday.

Out of the teams topping their respective tables id take Milan, without a doubt. We cant get an english team

At last some sense :) At least you can acknowledge hes been poor, some progress ! He was decent last year but as I said hes been muck this season and as a STRIKER I think its fair to say 3 goals up to December is a poor return (2 of them were penos). I seem to recall plenty of punters on here slagging him off, specifically during and after the blackburn game.

Interesting stat on the Berba thing :)

i'd want to see Babel for Torrez and Lucas for Gerrard now pretty soon. We still need to have a bit of pace up front

Playing great football at the minute and their top players are in great form. Of course, that could and probably will have changed by February.

we've been very poor tonight really.

They're about the only top team we havnt got over the last few seasons. It'd be nice to have a go at them.

I wouldnt mind any spanish team because i think Rafa has the measure of the majority of them. Maybe Sevilla actually, they are playing very poor at the minute.

The only thing about getting the likes of madrid is that you know Liverpool will give a performance.
If they got the likes of Schalke they could very easily lose the game.
Pretty bad match tonight, winning 3-0 at a canter sets it up well for the weekend

we've been very poor tonight really.

It was never going to be gung ho after the first 11 mins. The game was more or less sewn up. Absolutely no point going all out to score another few goals when theres much more important issues coming up as early as Sunday.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Chelski, you know its going to happen!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,835 ✭✭✭StickyMcGinty

Babel on for Torres, nice one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,039 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Babel on now, hopefully he can get himself another sub goal.

I wonder what Aurelio's introduction means for Sunday. I would have expected Arbeloa to be moved left rather then Riise being there, but maybe Rafa plans to opt for Aurelio.

We cant get an English team in the next round, get with the programme.

anyone else think it's been a bit of an anti-climax? I was expecting a game of it but Marseilles being ****e coupled with the 2 early goals ended it as a contest and its just tipping along since.

I think liverpool would be much better off against barcelona or seville. Both have been fairly inconsistant, and i think barcelona are more likely to bottle it away from home.

    chelsea aren't english

    *checks map*

    *confused*

    Is this a Russia joke?

Im a little slow tonight, on painkillers for a broken toe. (football predictably enough)

I'll edit the post to say it will happen in the Quarter Finals !
