Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Saturday 3-1 down after 70 mins and Rafa pulls off Gerrard (not literally ) Winning 3-0 tonight since the 48th min and he leaves him on, the mind boggles

    Odd is'nt it?

    Mike.

at the risk of sounding like ray houghtan here, it is disappointing that we arent controlling possession alot more in midfield. these guys are cleary rubbish yet masch, yossi, stevie etc cant wait to get rid of the ball every time they get it.
when is the draw for next round?

he really did seem to have taken a knock though. Rafa said it, and Stevie had an ice pack on on the bench.

    Babel you hero!

    4-0 Babel.

Just the 16 goals in the last 3 cl games then, I'm underwhelmed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,283 ✭✭✭gucci

HAHA best quote ever..."the last 3 games liverpool have taken 15 points, great record to turn it around!!"

bugger did he say goals...sorry my bad!!

Hamilton on form again " has any other team scored 16 goals in 3 consecutive cl games, I think not".

I have to admit, 48 goals in 3 is impressive.:D

Thank Fupp for that (I put 25 euro on Pool to win by four at half-time!)

rafa hugging stevie. Tears in my eyes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

and did rafa just dry his own there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

    36% possesion? :D

I did think that was actually kind of poignant, Rafa never shows emotion, looked really proud or something.

59% according to BBC. Frankly I believe neither.

this rte nonsense is hurting me, any of the other english teams did what liverpool did would of said that they swept across their opponents.
    great night, excellent result.

Switched to ITV. Nice and bland. The RTE lads are off form tonight. They're some bag of moaners.

"Honesty of effort will always get you so far.." Yes Johnny to the Champions League Final twice in 2 years. Would it really kill them to say something positive?

If I hear that Honesty of effort phrase again I think I will go mad.

judging by their prolonged negativity towards liverpool someone quite literally has a gun to their heads on this one.

same with (regarding Crouch) - "he's a very clever player, but he's limited in what he can do. Often his legs won't allow him to do what his head wants him to." Every time.

Had it in a 3 team accumulator

What price did u get the betting in running at Mike?

Babbel is 9-1 to be last goalscorer on sunday, so flipping tempted!

But will we see the same team week in week out over the next few weeks? I don't know!?

Liverpool had 5 on target and scored 4.

Next round is gona be interesting, 2nd place is still a bit position to be in:

    Real Madrid
    Sevilla
    Internazionale
    Barcelona
    Milan

    That's a tough draw

Liverpool are a model of efficiency. 5 shots 4 goals with one third the play, they let Marseille do all the running about.

    Mike.

harry redknapp and avram grant...better than benitez

I wouldn't mind any of them really. Seville are playing poorly, Inter always crumble when it matters. Barca can't win away from home, and I'd fancy Milan they don't look great this season.

    Kuyt
    Torres

Im going for a 3-0 win for Liverpool. Torres and Gerrard on the score sheet.

Yeesh I was soooo close to a full house :D

Great result, not one I wasn't expecting, Marseille are not Champions League material at all. Torres took his goal really well, I can't believe Stevie missed the penalty... I thought Kuyt was our taker when he came on.
Super sub Babel got a good goal too and happy to see Kuyt on the score sheet. Roll on Sunday.

Milan dont look great this season?

Put your house on it to win the CL then! :)

    This is in comparison to:

    Schalke
    *******kos
    Celtic
    Rangers/Lyon
    Roma
    Fenerbahce/PSV

thats according to dunphy the great, also he tipped seville for the champions league a coupla weeks ago, so obviously we should be hoping to avoid them!! he claimed avarm grant and harry redknapp were top managers and better football team or something like that

sod it he dosn't like too many of our players too, should be a massive clear out in january so....

I think Liverpool and Roma are the only ones with a reasonable chance of getting through, with the possible exception of whoever draws Porto.

    I think he's quoting Dunphy (?)
