Whats porn form? Have you been watching something you shouldnt before the match stream starts? ;)

    :D

What the jesus is wrong with 'pool?

Could Rafa have lost the dressing room?

We've looked very shaky at the back so far, especially Arbeloa. Nobody has played well but the 2 usual suspects (Riise and Voronin) have been absolutely laughable. Riise is just lumping balls into the box expecting Voronin, Benayoun etc to beat Huth in the air.

Not watching (some folks are willing to pay for same I understand!) but if they are as bad as the match thread on RAWK suggests then maybe he has.

Hard to belive Valencia actually want JAR

Voronin has to be the worst player to grace a Liverpool jersey since Dirk Kuyt!
Considering the way theyre playing lately and the results we're getting, I'd gladly take Mourinho over Rafa now. Least the results would be right even if its not pretty to watch.

Oh for fúck sake, id actually just let Riise go. He has brought nothing to the team this year but today had been his worst performance ever in a Liverpool shirt. We'd be lucky to get 1million for him.

There was very little wrong with the last ball. Theres absolutely no movement in the box. Vronin was perfectly happy to stand in the one place and watch the ball go over his head. Even if it dropped right onto him, he was standign and couldnt have done anything with it. There should be players running into the box when the ball is out wide. Just after that Yossi got the ball and tried to pull it back from the by line, luckily it went out off Huth because again there was nothing inj the box if ithad went through.

This is so frustrating, Voronin finally does something decent and cant pass it 6 yards to Gerrard alongside him.

It would be prettier than Liverpool have played the last couple of games :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,694 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Does Mascherano not realise we are wearing the white kit today?
His passing has consistently found a red shirt, he's actually challenging Momo for recklessness.
If the table stays as it stands we are going to be in 7th after today.

Sounds stupid but maybe the colour is causing problems - Utd had problems with grey.

    clutching at straws much? ;)

Thought Liverpool were a disgrace that half, but Boro are a poor side so if a half decent Liverpool team show up 2nd you could easily win.

    *sigh*

If this game continues as it has started it will be up there with Marseille, Besiktas, Porto & Reading as our worst performances of the season.

Its laughable watching Riise & Voronin trying to pass the ball to each other. Ive no problem with Voronin, hes an ok 4th choice striker. My problem is that he plays too much. He should play when the others are injured or in the Carling cup. He has started more than twice as many games as Crouch in the league this season.

Put Gerrard on the right, Alonso in the middle and Benayoun on the left. Stick Babel up front and we might get something from this game.

    Babel---Torres

    Benayoun--Alonso--Mascherano--Gerrard

Will Rafa actually make a substitution before 60mins? Wonder if he'll take off Stevie and Torres to save them or some such nonsense. I never want to see Voronin again. If he brings on Kuyt I'll have lost all confidence in Rafa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Voronin tricked himself about 4 times there in the box.

Good to see the ref with a bit of cop to let it go when Torres wriggled free and then still book Huth afterwards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭Stky10

When I saw the team I started thinking that it was obviously our tactic to beat them by brute force rather than via any skill. Surely after three and a half years it should be obvious that Riise can't play midfield?. And that Benayoun's first objective is to not get into a tackle that might mean him getting hurt or injured?. And Voronin over Babel or anybody else on the planet?

Could well be one of Sami's last games with Agger back from injury and Skrtel signed.

Have you seen Babel do 1 good thing when playing from the start in any game? Cos you'd be the only one. He's doing good things coming on against tireing teams so it should be left that way for this season anyway and let him get used to the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,139 ✭✭✭flanzer

Pure and utter sh1te today......Rafa won't be too long in job if this sort of muck continues. I'd have given him a bit of respect if he had of taken off Voronin at half time but my respect is beginning to wane a bit

With his pace, strength and ability he'd have way more of a chance of producing something than Voronin anyway who as far as I can see is just a passenger. Babel's not a winger as we seem to be trying to convert him into. He played on the left of three up front for Ajax, not in midfield. And the sooner Babel and Torres get used to playing together the better for us.

Alonso on, Yossi off, Gerrard wide right.

Come on Xabi. How is Voronin still on the field?

He hides behind Torres when Rafa looks for him.

Babels decision making is very bad at times. There was loads of space and a couple of Liverpool players out left but he turned into 3 players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,139 ✭✭✭flanzer

Feeling in my bones Babel's gonna get the winner.....!

Well that's well and truely the premiership over and done with now. With Arsenal only drawing today, Chelsea winning and an expected cricket score at old trafford this avo and a continued poor performance, no points gained on the leaders finishes the season. A top 4 finish is a must now otherwise our tops players might follow Rafa out the door at the end of the season. Bad times

We need to buy a new stirker & Winger and hopefully we are fine.
After watching that match I am disgusted alonso wasn't on from the start and I am begining to think that Gerrard should be on the right for a while!

I know this is a pool thread and I don't want to wind anyone up, but the Pool were awful today it was Boro's inability to kill the game off and a bit of a special strike from a special player that saved them from a defeat. A point at the Riverside isn't that bad many top teams have struggled there but it was the awful performance.

Something is wrong at Liverpool they have players that have the ability to be pushing the top 3 but something is wrong imo

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 620 ✭✭✭NotWormBoy

The thing that annoys me the most is that Arsenal and United are dropping points - and had we gotten our act together and played properly during December and January, we'd be well up there with the rest of the Big 4. We may not have the players to take on the big boys in a toe-to-toe all the time, but we should be putting away the rest of the teams in the league, barring maybe Everton, City and Portsmouth away. If we could just do that, I'd be happy. Of course, if my aunt had balls...

True, if is was any team in the top half of the table (well maybe a top 8 side) we could have been spanked. I think we treat lower sides with too much respect. Man U have a chance to go top now, do you think they'll pass the opportunity like we would..... doubt it

Not happy with the result today, but Arsenal/United/Chelsea have found it a difficult place before, so it doesn't seem too bad a result.
But tis another draw, that's 9 draws out of 21 league games.

Can't see what Voroninin offers the team/squad.
Crouch offers a whole lot more, find it difficult to understand why he's not even making the bench, does it suggest that he's goin' to be moved on?

Funniest thing today was our defenders lumping it up to Torres and Voronin, did either of them win a header all day? They played to Crouch's strength when he's not on the field.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Funny how those early draws were dimissed as not important. The look it now.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,904 ✭✭✭DeadSkin

I don't think Crouch's strength is with his head, he can control the ball very well and he can do the simple things, like hold the ball up and lay it off.

    ****e performace.

gerrard was poor first half. voronin was ****e whole game. babel still has a lot to learn, but is a definate threat. riise is the muckest of muck. actually thought mascherano was decent. yossi is not a winger. arbeloa looked seriously nervous in the first half, why?hardly the intimidating atmosphere in the riverside!?

dont know wat else to say. not sure how we are meant to get out of this rut at all tbh.
