Yeah Mike, your comment was particularly misleading and insulting for you are 100% aware that no (few?) Man Utd fans actually come from Manchester. ;)

I think you should withdraw the term 'Mancs'. Very inappropriate IMO. :)

We're on great form and it sickens you so you have nothing bad to say about us which means you have nothing to say at all.

Do you really really believe that we're all so hung up on Utd that that is the case ? I for one couldn't give two sh!ts about Utd - even when the two teams are playing I'd rather spend my team supporting my team than nit picking every last fecken detail about Utd (or any other team we're playing for that matter).

Get over it - not everyone is as fixated on Utd as you seem to think.

Some non reds who come in here do make valid points and will debate them and even go so far as to see other peoples points of view. Others come in here and preach - they're right and we're deluded if we think otherwise and they seem to feel the need to preach week in week out. Well guess what - maybe we're perfectly happy being deluded ? Ignorance is bliss and all that.

I'm just not gonna reply to them anymore. There are some that I can have a decent conversation with (PHB etc) but most of them just bring up tired old discussions that we have had 1000 times or make head dizzying comments (Alonso is not good enough).

Just listened to the Hicks interview, according to him.

-He will be here for at least 5 years
-They were only ever going to sell 15% but couldn't agree on valuation
-Him & Gilette get on well but don't always agree
-They are going to buy Mascherano
-They expect Rafa to be here at least until the end of his contract (2 years)
-They have never turned down a request from Rafa for money for a player
-Rafa has their full support since the meeting in December
-They are in discussions with Rafa about signings in the summer
-He watches every game on tv but is going to try to go to more games live
-They are going to build the best football stadium in the world
-He wants fans to judge him on his actions, not on the words in newspapers.

Sounds too good to be true.

Lads, Ive great respect for Liverpool and all that jazz. But wtf is Kuyt doing, everytime I watch ye play a couple of veins in my brain explode because of him. I know he works hard, but the big teams need more than that. Is it only non-pool supporters who feel this way, because he frustrates me so much when I watch him.

I assure you, he frustrates noone more than us. He is not fast or skillful enough to play in the hole and he isnt clinical enough to play as a CF. He was ok/good last year but we all assumed he would be better this year as it was his first season. He has been much much worse. Hes alot better than hes showed this season, but I still dont think hes good enough to be a starter.

i still think when he's up top with torres they play very well together.

Well then tell Rafa to buy another decent striker... Perhaps Luis Fabiano! hahah, wait, I dont want him moving to the stinky premiership... =P Who would be your ideal partner for Torres (a plausible signing). Benzema or somebody like that?

Oh, and about Hicks saying he was gonna build the best stadium in the world... I didnt know he had enough money to move the Camp Nou all the way over to England... ;P

Anyone else notice the impending doom of the internet going to end twice in one year? Or will it happen this time? We're getting close on the 10,000 posts mark again.

Hard to say. I think Berbatov would be an unbelievable partner but thats not going to happen. Someone like Benzema would be great as well but would cost a bomb.

Kuyt has scored 3 in the league.

Torres has scored 11 in the league, Voronin has scored 3 in the league, Yossi has scored 3 league goals from midfield, Babel has scored 3 in the league from midfield. Gerrard has scored 7.

Its the people coming in here who dont have a clue what they are talking about and start stating things like certain players just arent good enough that annoys people.

You can include yourself in that so.Every single page of this thread has a Pool fan saying someone or other isn't good enough tbh.As for Alonso not being good enough, well whoever wrote was talking out of his ass, he is quality , can't really say much about Agger seeing as he is made of glass and always injured.

    Criticism can be healthy.

I guess we'll have to wait until we play 23 games then, if Liverpool win, they go third, is one game the difference between a 6th placed team and a 3rd placed team ?

    erm

liverpool are 10 points off 3rd place with 1 game in hand, how exactly do you maintain that if they win their 23rd league game theyll go 3rd?

You lot cant take a bit of criticism - youre playing sh*te at the moment, youve even admitted that yourselves but nobody seems to be allowed say it but yereselves. But guaran-f*cking-teed if this was United playing rubbish you'd be doing the exact same thing in our thread. We're on great form and it sickens you so you have nothing bad to say about us which means you have nothing to say at all. But as soon as we offer our opinion you get on your high horse and declare trolling. How have your own ideas worked so far? Play Gerrard in his proper position? didnt work. Sign a world class striker? Didnt work. Invest heavily in the summer? Didnt work.

But by all means declare this trolling, because its what you do best when you cant handle the truth.

No its the same couple of points over and over again, are you all retarded that you cant remember talking about this before. There are at least 4-5 posters on here who are acting like trolls and you sir are one of them.

I couldnt give a f*ck if united dont play well i am not gonna go into the united threadand give you sh1t about it. united fans are obsessed with liverpool because we are the yard stick, most successful club in england and you are all bitter about that it would seem.

do us all a favour and pi$$ off back to your own forum and stop rehashing the same arguments again and again. oh and there is no real point in replying to this as i will be ignoring most united supporters posts from now on coz you havent got a unique thought between the lot of you...

I have no idea if thats sarcasm, so Ill answer it as it was a serious statement. :D Im a diehard Barca fan mate, 1/2 Catalan. I just find that if I speak about Barca on this forum Im preaching to a deaf choir because everyone here supports a PL team, it would also be stupid to concern myself only with my club, its nice to compare my opinion on other clubs with fans of said club.

See this is the thing, you're projecting your own neuroses onto us. I've never posted on the United thread, I don't think I've ever even read it. I'm just not obsessed about United like you obviously are about Liverpool. I don't know if you're bitter or something, but maybe you should try and get over it and just enjoy watching United, if you can.

10 goals from 19 starts for a winger who is apparently not good enough & only cost 4 million. Hmm

3 from 6 starts in the champions league
3 from 10 starts in the premier league
3 from 2 starts in the Fa cup
1 from 1 start in the Carling cup.

Hes hardly Ronaldo but hes definitely a handy player. Also worth noting, he is our third top scorer ahead of all our strikers bar Torres and has scored more goals than our other wingers combined.

I actually like Benayoun. Good squad player

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

personally i like yossi, nice skillfull player, and yes at 4million he was a good buy imo.. he isnt an out and out winger but is better then the likes of pennant isnt he?

Benyayoun has done great IMO ... Rafa has used him well.

Hi kryogen (I got the PM) I wont reply in kind, I'll just say that you are not the worst nor are you the best (I quite like DesF for example but thats proberbly cos he is mad enough to belive the LOI is "where its at" ;) )

Nor are "we" without sin (Mr Alan is shockingly the 3rd highest poster in the Man Utd thread  ) but I do think most Liverpool fans regard this thread as our thread for us to chat about the club in, rather than being a meeting point for a typed fracas. Other are not unwelcome but this thread is not meant to be everyone elses second home.

Some who chip in are genuine, others are total idiots with thier "nose-thumbed" mentality. Sometimes the decent get lumped in with the Soccer board dross.

An awful lot of the people on here are acting like babies.

Some of the United fans are being stupid and clearly coming here to wind up Liverpool fans.

Some of the L'pool fans are also being stupid with comments like "go back to your own forum" and also putting all non-pool fans in the same category declaring them trolls.

I began posting in this thread (Im a Utd fan btw) and found it to be pretty hostile when i pointed out my point of view so i don't post here anymore... thats fine with me.

I just think everyone needs to grow up, and some should just stop acting like idiots. If you don't like someones posts you can always ignore them and for the Utd fans grow up and stop making little jibes.

    my 2c

EDIT: oh and the V7per Ronaldo thing does sound stupid!

So finally do we believe whats Hicks has said? BBC certainly didnt, the stories arent adding up especially that DIC are still interested and Gillet has disappeared.

It would be good to sign Masch even if it was only to keep us happy for a few months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,331 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Until he starts really coming through with his promises consistently I wont be putting much stock in anything he says.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,095 ✭✭✭zing

Something just doesn't add up with it all and Gillet mysterious absense and exclusion from press statements certainly seems to back up the 'something's not quiet right' theory. Posted along these lines the other night and subsequently read a BBC piece in which they said Hick's spokeperson told them that Gillet 'plans to make his own comments'. Why would he feel the need to make his own comments if everything was fine and dandy between the pair of them ?

Gillet may still sell out to DIC which means they own 50% of the club. That is if he is still not getting on with Hicks.

If DIC do buy Gillets half then they will go for a full take over.

The other thing I'm not happy about is that this refinancing deal is again short term - for 18 months this time rather than 12. So in 18 months they refinance the whole lot all over again - if they're still around.

Its a bit mad alright, either way Hicks is going to refinance the whole way by the looks of it and then the interest is going to cripple LFC and they will end up paying more in interest than anything else!!
