Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Initially it was a super tackle by Carragher but it was unfortunate that his clearance hit Finnan, there was nothing he could do tbh.

He could have looked up and cleared it to a different spot. That's what I'd expect from him.

    clown bag

Pool flattered to deceive for about 5 mins then it all started to go wrong. A fluky rebounded/deflected goal for the other lot, Liverpool lose all composure in passing and retention. a few decent blasts from Gerrard and Babel and Riise but nothing serious.

    Mike.

Absolutely shocking. Depressing stuff. No Movement, hurried passing, poor control, sloppy defending.

i mean what im saying, but im not here to wind people up, i dont understand why you all get so hot under the collar at critiscism. why is it so hard to admit that poor defending cost the goal? yes it was a good tackle, yes it was unlucky the way the ball was like a pin-ball, but it started because they didnt clear their lines!!!!

Gerrard is feckin appauling! Relax a little and play simple passes! All the hollywood passes he's hitting are sh*te!
Also Besiktas will prolly be in trouble with UEFA after Pennant was hit with a projectile from the crowd (fair play to Jermaine for getting on with it)

    :(

As much as I love european nights maybe an eary exit from the CL will be the kick in the arse we need to compete in the PL. Arsenal look like they will be tough to catch if we let them get any further ahead of us. Don't fancy a string of "cup final" matches to get us out of the CL group.

Dont know why your complaining, its the same rubbish liverpool have played week in week out for the past two years. Rafa is not the manager that liverpool fans want, yes he might the results and has one a couple of trophies, but the the style of football is rubbish and also his signings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,225 ✭✭✭Chardee MacDennis

well yeah but if we want to buy a big name or two next year. also the media reaction will be terrible and will not help the squad or Rafa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

I'd much rather have Crouch on than Voronin.

Has Babel impressed anyone else since arriving at Liverpool? He has left me cold...

Riise and Pennant, they have been better than gerrards. this is painful stuff....

Speaking of rubbish, you can fair speak an amount of it.

also, Marseille have gone one up at Porto, at least gives us a shot if finishing second in the group now.

pennant has been taking them...at least on one side. his delivery has been far better than anything ive ever seen from gerrard. he's got the supreme talent of being able to beat the first man.

    Bugger, 1 each now.

Very good Devil, is that the best you can come up with, just as far as rubbish signings go, how about Torres just as a start, is he rubbish ? Do you even watch football ?

holy **** what a goal, incredible counter-attack. lol, Liverpool going out after 3 games? :P it seems that Everton was indeed a lucky result

Am I wrong in saying that if Liverpool lose this then qualifcation is out of Liverpools hands?

I do watch football, but this is hardly exciting or this as good as it gets for liverpool fans now of days ;).

Torres is fantastic player and great signing, shame he signed for a team that does not playing exciting football.

    2-0 :) lol.

A long season ahead for you and all the other liverpool fans.

We don't deserve to play in Europe this year. Where's the Liverpool gone that we've come to know in the CL?

    Gerrard goal. Consolation.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Now is now time for gallows humour! ;)

    Gerrard scores from Crouch.

    Mike.

CL is not over for us yet but is almost.

We are proper humped mid ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

hoho, typical Gerrard, shocking game, then a bit of magic :) Liverpool to win 3-2 would not be a bad bet
we're drowning and phb's describing the water

I'm sorry, that's an incredible funny statement I must say :)

rafa did say we were concentrating on the league so we'd have to expect less than normal results in the cl, but this has been very poor.

I hope we don't win this or even draw. This would be a necessary loss, Porto are'nt do that plan any favours though (they're loosing)

    Mike.

    ps RAWK servers suffering again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Well not over yet I suppose, could another goal be in the offing ? Not even sure a point would make a huge difference TBH.

Yet he's still been resting players for it. Sometimes I really just don't get Rafa and what he's thinking.

    why neccessary?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,411 ✭✭✭shotamoose

Whatever about the goal, Besiktas still look dangerous and we still look ****e. It would be nice to get a result but that shouldn't hide what's been a shocking performance. It's not about missing Torres or Alsonso or whoever, it's about the team playing like a bunch of strangers. That's the coach's fault.

Wouldn't a point put it in Liverpools hands. If they got the point, then won the next three games, making up a 5 goal difference, they'd qualify ahead of Porto

No CL = more effort on League, Rafa can send out the bench/youngsters for the UEFA cup if Liverpool qualify.

    Porto are level with Marseille

    Mike.

    People on the pitch.

    They think it's all over....

    It is now.

How are they missing so many chances?

    ...and that is that

    Roll on Arsenal...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,784 ✭✭✭Dirk Gently

    Roll on Arsenal...
not looking forward to that hammering tbh, although it would be just like liverpool to put in a great performance and then throw it away again with 0-0 home draws for the next four games afterwards.

The real question is why they wait until the 90th min to start playing with some urgency.

Any half-arsed European team with a bit of pace and trickery have our number.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Well it is no longer in our hands, really do not understand some of Rafas decisions but hey, these things happen. Let's see what happens in the league I suppose, he really will either have to field his best 11 and go for it in the CL risking the already shaky league form or field the youths and start winning some games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,225 ✭✭✭Chardee MacDennis

last time we did this poorly in the group stage we wont it (horriibly optimisic)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,488 ✭✭✭AdrianII

max points we can get is 10.
marseille have 7 and port have 5 with 3 games left.

CL is over for this year i think
