Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

can anyone advise a good brand of shampoo to use in a hard-water area? I've recently moved and my hair is suffering-really limp and greasy! Any help appreciated.

Maybe the blue herbal essense? Im using fructise one for volume and thats pretty good for keeping my hair grease free for a while :D

I moved last year and the water where I live now is very hard, I had the exact same problem as you.
TBH I couldn't find any shampoo that worked well.
I found the best thing to do was to just use whatever shampoo you normally use and add cider vinegar in the final rinse of your hair.
I just keep a bottle of it in the shower and a jug and put a cap full into approx 1.5l of water.
if you google "cider vinegar rinse" you should find more accurate measurements than i gave.

Or try Lush (stores in Grafton St, Henry St in Dublin also in Cork and Belfast or order online at www.lush.co.uk)

They do a shampoo bar called "Hard" which is specifically for people who live in hard water areas. Smells yum too

I second this - Lush are brilliant. I have really dry hair and got their seaweed shampoo and it totally softened it.
They also have the best moisturiser for dry skin called Shangri-La for anyone who's intersted!

Lush...haven't been there in a while.
OP, I hear good reports about their "hard" shampoo. Alternatively you could get a filter for your shower head? They can be pricey but worth it to have nice hair!
