so, I want to put a gps application on my mobile and have been digging around for some reliable info.A few question if anyone can help. 1) is navteq the best for irish maps? 2) is there an update for navteq or whichever is the best sw coming out soon and should i wait for it. 3)does the gps application need to open a 3G connection to operate(have a prepay phone and 3G sucks up da credit). 4)should i get an authentic gps receiver from nokia or get a cheapo on ebay. would really appreciate any guidance. thanks

here the software I am using on the N73 Route 66 mobile 7
Ireland mapping is about 99.5 percent

3G connection is only needed for traffic updates which does not work here

from Ebay I got this Nokia GPS bluetooth
works great even indoors battery lasts a long time

You wouldn't know of something similar that would work on a SE k800i?

I am already using TomTom Navigator 6 with version 675 maps for UK + IE and I rate it highly.

I've also got all the funny voices and current speed camera database and congestion charge zones.

I use a Bluetooth GPS receiver I got from ebay and it works extremely well and the battery lasts FOREVER!!!!!! (not literally, of course but it does feel like it)

It was a doddle to install and working within 5 minutes of starting.

I have two Navman iCN units, two Navman F20 units and two Tomtom units and the phone works just as well as all of them.

If anybody wants a recommendation then I am it. My business is GPS related and I've used many different systems.
