    Hi All
Have Decided with friends of ours to self manage/build new homes for ourselves in the Maynoothish /hazelhatch /north Kildare area.. could I ask the collective experience on the forum thoughts on sourcing a site in said area??
    regards :-)

This is probably better suited to the Kildare forum or accommodation & property. I can't make my mind up. I'll let muffler take a look.

Firstly, the price of the field behind my back garden in Leixlip went up in price by 10 times, between 5 and 10 years ago. Sine then, a few hundred houses have been built there.

Secondly, due to that price, any farmer selling his land will want lots of money. You must decide whats too much, and whats too little so that someone else doesn't get the land before you.

Thirdly, if its near'ish to the town, it'll either have been bought, or zoned under non-residential.

Finally, if its not near town, you may have trouble getting hooked upto the main sewage pipes, water pipes, etc.

Good luck, but you do know how much the land costs, don't ye? Also, as you'll be buying some stuff not as bulk purchase, it may cost a bit more.
