Heavy bag for uppercuts

Just a couple of questions about uppercuts and heavy bags

Can a standard heavy bag be used for uppercuts? It doesn't seem possible to me but perhaps my uppercut technique is not what it should be. Maybe it depends on how soft the bag is?

If a standard bag is not suitable, what is the best type of bag for uppercuts? There seem to be two main types
    1) a bag which is like a normal bag but is mounted horizontally instead of hanging staight down.
    2) a bag which hangs down but the top is wider than the bottom.

I would have said that the first type is better for uppercuts but the 2nd type is better if you want to work other punches too.

Anyone got any comments or experiences?

There are 2 main types of bags that are for uppercuts, 1 is like a large ball shape and is perfect for uppercuts and hooks-the other bag is small ball shape on the bottom eith a large ball shape on top and is also good for uppercuts-Basic bags are good for straight punches and hooks, they can be uppercutted but it has to be at an angle like naseem used to uppercut! dont bother doing uppercuts on a heavybag.

Yes I have seen these, I would put these in the same category as the horizontally mounted cylindrical bags i.e. a bag which is quite specific for uppercuts
the other bag is small ball shape on the bottom eith a large ball shape on top and is also good for uppercuts
Sounds like a similar principle to the type 2 I mentioned. Although some bags have a much greater "overhang" than others. Eg the bag you describe with a small ball shape and a large ball shape would likely have a much larger overhang than the bags I was thinking of which would be something like this

Thats not the 1 i mean-its seperated at the center like 2 seperate bags-1 small at bottom and 1 big at the top, great for uppercuts-the 1 you showed are not great for uppercuts but better than a standard bag!

Thanks cowzerp. I think I have found the one you are referring to

I think these are referred to as 3 in 1 bags.
