    Quiet special on the inside. great milage on the full tank. very comfortable. very safe. very nippy

    focus

    I have one from new jan 06 great fuel economy, nice to drive and in my opinion is the nicest looking.

    I drove a lot of different ones but the focus was the best and also quiet reasonably priced

    I think it was around 15K plus VAT

    VW Golf 1.9 TDi - 105bhp (has air con as standard afaik),
    Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi - 90bhp,
    Renault Megavan 1.5 dCi - 86bhp,
    Citroen C4 1.6 HDi - 90bhp,
    Opel Astra Sport Hatch 1.3 CDTi - 90bhp,
    Nissan Almera 2.2 dCi - 112bhp.

    Hyundai Tucson commercial is coming around 25k with VAT.
    (slightly left of centre)

    I'd be thinking Golf or Auris. maybe the Focus
