The Corrib river outside of Galway city has trout, perch, bream, roach, rudd what should I use for bait, worm/maggot/bread? spinners are no use are they?

Also the current is quite strong and it is deep, what setup should I use? lots of lead to keep it down and prevent from floating down river, with a big float to keep it at a certain level, is what I'm thinking!

I'm not much of a angler as you can see:o
