Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Tottenham vs Everton

I reckon Spurs will put the loss to Sunderland behind them and get a 2-1 win over Everton. I think this will be an entertaining match and I'm looking forward to seeing it on Sky Sports 2.

    Birmingham vs Sunderland

Birmingham have a good record over Sunderland in recent times but this match has draw written all over it in my opinion. I see it finishing 1-1.

How do you see tonight's matches going?

Pigheads usually an argumentative fcuker but I'd have to agree with those two predictions of Mr Nice Guys. Hopefully Berbatov can open his seasons account tonight and give Pigheads fantasy footie team a boost.

Spurs and Sunderland to win tonight. I don't like the other 2 teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

I thought Spurs vs Everton was the only game tonight?

Really tough one to call. Spurs have to play better than they did against Sunderland, but they still have defensive problems. I think both teams are very evenly matched, so I'll sit on the fence and say a draw. Can't wait, could be cracking from a neutral point of view.

I thought that myself but on Sky they've listed another game.

Same here. I had Rooney too in my team so if Berbatov fires a blank I'm in big trouble. :o

everton playing pretty well, they look a well organised team with some decent players. big arteta fan, he gives everton creativity in the midfield

want to see a reaction from spurs in the second half, hope they get one back early and should make for a good finish

Dunno, fixtures everywhere indicate tomorrow - http://www.safc.com/match/?page_id=2593

This thread should have been made into a mega midweek prem games thread with a decent fixture list taking place tomorrow.

Disaster for Spurs... 70 mins and 3-1 down.

I also need Berbatov to score to boost the old fantasy football team :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28,128 ✭✭✭✭Mossy Monk

Looks like Berbatov may need to be transferred off my Fantasy team. Very disappointing thus far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,697 ✭✭✭ciaran76

Apart from Everton playing very well. It looked like Spurs just weren't fit enough tonight. Spurs defence is in shambles.

I know they are missing a good few players but they need to get it sorted quick if they want to be getting this 4th place that they are aiming for.

    Everton top the table then?

Of course I would love to say yes but I don't count the table to exist until after 3 games.Realistically I dont really look at it till after 8 games though.

Are others like that too ?

played well everton. Osman suprised my tonight he was immense.

I think once we can replace Stubbs and Carsley with better quality then Everton can be a team potential of breaking into the top 4 again

I think it's there already. Absolutely solid performance. Arteta is such a class act.

Everton for a top 4 spot? Mebbe not as they're shy of one more striker to get them the goals i think.

But they certainly have added great depth to midfield - Pienaar, Jagielka, Fernandes in the past few months.

I did a little competition in Terry Rodgers last week. Free to enter and the winner gets a few grand.

    Premiership Winner - Chelsea
    FA Cup winner - Chelsea
Premiership top scorer - van Persie
Last in the premiership - Wigan
Who'll finish best bar Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs - Everton

Good start anyway. I've a good bit of money on Pompey on the handicap but I probably have a better chance of winning the above comp. :D

You reckon Chelsea will do the double?

Can't see it tbh, I think José will be concentrating on winning back the Premiership and winning the CL, the cups will be a sideshow for Chelsea this season, imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,013 ✭✭✭✭eirebhoy

Mourinho seems to take the cups seriously from the start. This season maybe he will play a reserve team if they're paired against a lower league team in the first round but their reserves should beat most teams. You can be sure if they're up against a premiership team they'll field a strong team. I can definitely see them doing the double this season.

No idea how Leon Osman won Man of the Match

Arteta was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch.

There were two incidents in the first half that I thought showed the difference bewtween the two sides.

Everton centre back gets injured, is limping around, but demands 5 more minutes, then another 5 more minutes and eventually gets through the game.

Spurs centre back gets injured and jogs off the field straight away.

Its probably an over-reaction, but it looked like one guy was prepared to put his body on the line for his club, the other one didnt give afack.

Agreed! I thought Arteta was the class player on the pitch in everything he did and I thought Lescott had a stormer at the back.

Spurs now have a 100% record...not the one people thought though :p

Spurs aren't looking like making any kind of challange for 4th spot so far! i know its early in the season yet but if they continue to play like that they are screwed.

Everton done well. Arteta should have got man of the match alright without a doubt. he's a class act and with Cahill out they need him to keep playing the way he is.

Well thank God the awful Beattie has backed his bags. I haven't seen a player that disinterested since Frannie Jeffers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Washout, only joking - enough bench warmers as it is :) maybe he could come and be Xabis P.A?

Everton have a great first 11, strong enought to push and try and get into top 4 (top six should be achieved), but if they have any major injuries, i'd be worried about the depth there.

Well, if i was an everton fan i'd be worried. Me as a Liverpool fan? I'd be delighted
