Swear Filter WTF?

Okay so if you say **** or **** or **** it gets starred out but people seem to be allowed to say things like fúck and cúnt so I'm just wondering why the swear filter is even there?

It's a policy that if you don't know how to get around them, you don't deserve them. I think there is an option to turn off the filter for yourself on VB 3.x

Would it be possible to have the word filter replace the banned words with other, ideally humourous, words rather than stars? Just for faeces and giggles, mainly.

Yeah, something like that. It's be all the funnier because the people who fall foul of the word filter most are those too arrogant or wound up to filter themselves and use one of the many ways around it(eg. italicising one letter), and thus the people most likely to have a coniption when their posts come out with a different, and usually much nicer, meaning.
