    :confused: Looking at the results achieved by students using this forum:
    Are they all attending grind schools?;) where is the average student?

    The average student is currently celebrating not on the internet. Possibly in the pub already :p

    The 'average' student is doing very few honours levels subjects so would not be coming close to the points some people here are claiming.

    The 'average' student would not have a computer with internet access at home either.

    Or be on boards.ie.

    If you look at Chief Examiner's Reports for various subjects you will see the percentages attempting honours and ordinary and foundation levels, you can then estimate what the 'average' mark is. It will not be an honour on an honours paper, except in subjects where very few people sit the exam.

    I know one person who got 600 points and another who got 590, neither had ever attended a grinds school and merely posessed the vital combination of studying effectively, having good preperation and having the motivation to succeed.

    Interestingly, the majority of those who I know "crammed" prior to their exams didn't surpass the 400 mark - which don't get me wrong, is still a good result but it just goes to show that the key to success is sound planning and studying and cramming will not allow you to excel in any subject!

    People who get 570+ tend to be naturally geniuses, that does NOT come from studying their asses off. I think the most someone can get if they're not naturally blessed with great photographic memories or whatever, if they slave their asses off, is about 540ish.

    I got 495 with a combination of good memory/cramming!

    Same can be said of people with photographic memories and not studying your ass off when I got 545! Works both ways eh?

    Hmmm... 540 is the result I got. And I'm certainly not blessed with a photographic memory.
