Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless video sender

I have a cheap Nikkai video/audio sender I got in Maplins. I have a Sky box downstairs, the extra tv is upstairs. As far as picture/audio go, it works perfect, I was actually impressed considering it only cost 50 euro but the remote won't work, at all. In the (pathetic) 'manual' that came with it, it says that it won't work with NTL, Virgin and some other boxes, and will only transmit picture/sound but not remote signals. That's exactly my problem. It does specify that Sky definitely works though so I'm not sure what's wrong. Another thing is that it says the remote works via the sender and is an integrated feature - yet I got this thing with it, an IR extender that plugs into the transmitter and can be stuck on top of your TV. Surprise, not a word of mention of this in the manual or box so I've no idea what it does. It's still plugged in though, just in case.

Any ideas? Not sure if I'm in the right forum, so move if necessary, thanks.

Are you sure it goes into the transmitter and not the receiver?

In many cases the transmitter has the IR receiver integral to the unit and then the eye is used on the receiver to transmit the IR signal as if you were in the same room and to placed near the digibox.

That would make sense as that's how most work but this one only has a slot in the transmitter for the 'eye' - The receiver has just the scart connection, that's it.

Hrm, thats very odd. It would be more arkward placing a receiver to transmit an IR signal.
    I'm kinda stumped.

    hi mate
I just got the same box and was also confused but I've figured it out.

Place the IR extender in front of the device you want to control.
Next, take the remote of that device to the other TV where you want to watch it and use it there.
It basically passes through any IR commands directly from the sending unit through to the IR extender which then sends them to the receiving AV device.

It works just beautifully. Of course ideally you need to buy an extra remote but its well worth it!

    Hope this helps!
