The title may be slightly misleading,

There is no battle between these two chocolate bars.

    Just a question.....

Having purchased one of each today I noticed that while the Dairy Milk is covered with a single lair of the golden foil, the Golden Crisp is covered with a thicker double layer of the stuff.

I went and bought another of each to make sure this wasn't a one off.

So, why the extra layer for the Golden Crisp?

I used to buy Golden Crisp, and they always seemed to pick up the taste of any other chocolates near them, especially mint.

Perhaps it has something to the eponymous Crisp of the title, or maybe it was just bad luck. Either way, I can't remember having a Golden Crisp that didn't taste tainted.

My real answer, for the ultimate battle between Dairy Milk and Golden Crisp, however, is Atari Jaguar.

    It's always Atari Jaguar.

p.s. Mint Crisp is the Devil's work

Is it like that consistantly? I got a Gold crisp recently, and I'm pretty sure it just had the one layer of foil.

Does this mean you have eaten four bars of chocolate just to prove a point?

No, I've eaten 4 bars of chocolate cos I'm a fat horse,

The question about the foil is just a side issue :p

But seriously, this is a consistent thing with these two bars.

    Exact same size,

    8 squares, similar wrappers.

But the Golden crisp has double the tinfoil.

Makes me wonder thats all :)

I've encountered the elusive double foil myself in the past.

I always chalked it up to a mistake on the foil-wrapping machines behalf?

Well just to completely freak the OP out, I had a bar of Dairy Milk the other day and it had two foil wrappers on it. It's a packaging error, I assume, and the two Golden Crisps probably came out of the same box, so it's likely there was a batch of them double wrapped. There's no reason to do so, it would cost Cadburys more to wrap every bar of chocolate twice.

EDIT: You see, stuff does get answered in the Sweets and Snacks forum, just ask the experts! ;)
