Hi, hopefully someone out there will be able to help me, I have just bought a new house which is pre wired with cat5 cable in all the main rooms. I was looking for a way to send audio/video from my Home Cinema in Sitting Room, to the TV in the bed room, and I came across a system to do this using two "baluns" and the cat 5 cable. The only thing is I am living in the west of Ireland, and have as of yet been unable to find the Baluns for sale anywhere. i realise they are not going to be cheap, but thought I would have found them a bit easier than this. Even Maplin Electronics who have them on their web site, dont have them in stock any more and cant tell me when they will get them back in. Does anybody know where I can get some of these, anywhere in the country / online etc.
    thanks
    John

    Hi John,

These are readily available in Ireland but you may find it difficult to find them in your regular high street electronic retailers.

Try google for them and if you have no joy then PM me and I can arrange to get them to you as a last resort if you're stuck.

There are various different types so just make sure you get one that does audio & video.

If your on a budget, this may do:
    http://www.bluedelta.co.uk/milestone_system.htm

If you have money to burn:
    http://www.avilynx.com/index.html

To be honest, I dont have personal experience with either, but am on the verge of making a purchase of the BlueDelta ones. The only down side (for me) seems to be that every TV in the house must watch the same thing (with the possible exception of the main TV).

I would prefer if it was possible to allow each TV to watch any source, but thus far have been un-successful in finding a system (that doesn't cost $1m's) that can do this!
