If so quick qn, IAS 39 - does this standard direct us, where we have bought a company and some of the consideration is deferred, to present value the deferred consideration and charge the difference between the deferred consideration and its present value and charge it to the p&l? seems crazy to me

IAS 39 - does this standard direct us, where we have bought a company and some of the consideration is deferred, to present value the deferred consideration and charge the difference between the deferred consideration and its present value and charge it to the p&l?

seems crazy to me
