I was on a Buddhist discussion forum discussing Dharma tattoos and whether or not they are acceptable within different schools and one of the posters put up a link to www.theworsthorse.net/bodyvows3/bodyvows3.html

Check out the girl at the top of the page with the Green Tara tattoo on her back, not only does she look hot (from the back ;) ) but it is quite possibly the most beautiful tattoo I have ever seen. Everything about it is impressive especially the yantra on top and the ribbon with the script going around it.

Puts me in mind to start putting ideas together for something along the same lines for myself...

    That is class man,
I can see where Alex Grey has gotten his inspiration now!
I may have to extend my tat to include something like that

lovely tattoo, i dont think the placement is right though, needs to be filled out more... but thats just me being picky. colour is amazing especially the fire, the yellow and red flow real well into each other.
think it is somewhat ruined by the tribal at the base of her spine though :(

hope you work out your tattoo scary

I think the tribal bit at the bottom adds to the whole effect, I know they are usually looked upon as tramp stamps but it fits in perfectly

I'm in agreement here, it looks well stemming from the tribal, and I think what makes it work is the way that they have the flames licking up along the tribal, following the flow of it, so that the two work together rather than just being there along with it.

Plus it is lotus like, and that contributes to the harmony of the two tattoos as well. If indeed it was planned as two tattoos.

Yeah the tribal part looks to me like its got some kind of root chakra thing going on providing the base for the flames.

The shading is amazing, I have been thinking of getting a Chenzerig (Tibetan Buddha of Compassion, something that will run through the tattoos that I have planned) tattoo on my back but I was looking for a kind of simplistic design. After seeing this I'm not going to limit myself :)

I might go for something based on this painting http://www.namsebangdzo.com/realaudio/chenrezig.jpg* but its a while off yet, I have a couple of smaller ones I want to get done before the end of the year.

After reading the 'I'll show you mine' thread I really want to see Porn Star's tat but the images aren't up anymore. Didn't Karen in Kinsale do hers? I've heard shes great with colour.

*(didn't want to link as an image because the pic is quite big)

Am I the only one here sad enough to have clicked into this expecting to see one of these?
