Guy looking for a new hairstyle.

At the moment i like it long but its too long. I want to start a career and need to look respectable.

I want a medium length hairstyle that would suit my kinda long face ears kinda stick out a bit too.

Anyone have any suggestions?

You could try keeping your hair long'ish but having it cover your forehead too. Something like this pic: http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/images/largesurferhairstyle3.jpg

And growing some facial hair all along the jaw-line to add some definition might counter-act the longish shape of your head.

I think? Worth a shot?!

Yeah I agree, definitely a fringe of some sort would be good for you to frame your face.
You say your ears stick out but it really only looks this way because you are tucking your hair behind your ears which makes them more prominent.
Here a few styles I think are nice and sort of respectable for work but not too long. A swooping fringe that goes to the side, longish over the ears and shorter towards the back

You should go somewhere like Toni and Guy or Peter Marks and bring photos with you of what you want done, don't be embarrassed because it's easier for the hairdresser to know what you want rather than try and guess from your descriptions, these places can be pricey but I reckon it's worth it for a big change because once the style is in place, a regular barber can trim it and keep it the same. Maybe take a photo as soon as it is done.
