Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I really hope I can catch the Pool - Chelsea game, it`s shaping up to be a cracker. Carvalho and Essien possibly out for Chelsea, and with Terry and Gerrard both nursing injuries, it`s wide open.

I'd be happy with Blackburn getting a draw with Arsenal even if it is at Ewood. The defence need to tighten up and watch Van Persie in particular.

Portsmouth 2 -1 Bolton, Wanderers opened the scoring through Anelka, goals from Kanu and new boy John Utaka should put Pompey in driving seat.

Spurs open the scoring so Jol is safe! :) 2-0 Malbranque a on pair looking for a HT no doubt.

Its funny that all the talk was about Jol not knowing what combination of 3 of his 4 strikers to play were when all the goals have come from midfielders.
    Derby are awful.

    Brian Mcbride scores for Fulham

Newcastle-Villa is nil all at half time, awful game by two sides who always talk up their ambition but never do anything.

I like Petrov and while other Villa fans have complained about him I have always said he will come good, I tell you he should have been taken off after 20 minutes, he was meant to be playing right midfield but obviously lacks the intelligence to understand how to play at any poistion except center Midfield. He kept getting sucked in and despite MON shouting and roaring at him he just wouldn't play in postion totally stupid.

Lets hope we can get Luke Moore on and leave Gabby out on the right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

The two centre backs for Villa look like they're playing well together. Carson has been his usual brilliant self in goal for Villa.

In fairness, he's been as bad as Reo-Coker, Young and Barry today. From what I can see, Agbonlahor is the only serious threat for Villa at the moment. He can't do everything on his own though.

All the talk was about Spurs having no midfield worth the name, so its pleasantly surprising to see 3 goals come from the middle. Shouldn't paper over the cracks though, we need Dawson, Kaboul and Bale back asap. Lennon is still a few weeks away yet and all, not to mention King...:(

Berbs hopefully back for next Sunday.

Awful borring scoreless draw, Martin Laursen is a quality defender if he could stay fit he is a real asset. I think MON needs to start paying over the odds because we need players, Gardener has the heart of a line but he's not a right back, I actually though NRC was class today.

Ouch that was hard to watch, i have no idea why we were strolling around the park, there was no urgency from our play at all (newcastle).

I look forward to when we get barton, emre and duffer back, we seriously lacked some creativity.

Deservedly man of the match based on that performance, he'll need to put several performances like that together this season for me to consider him quality though.

the man played for A.C Milan before us (Villa) and he is usually a rock at the back, that is if he is not unfit or scoring own goals. When fit hes the best defender we have, tho atm thats not the hardest claim to fame out there.

Why wasnt Smith sent off for his 2 footed lunge from behind today?

Someone else was last week and irish1 complained it was a normal tackle.

Yeah, I was at the Hammersmith End in Craven cottage today, which is the opposite side of that goal-line, and even I saw it go in, is that referee blind?

coz the referee's have been told to keep a "low profile" obviously

There was one in the Spurs game that was worse than Kitson's too but as I said last week anyone that plays or watches soccer every week sees those tackles every week.
