Streaming NFL

Hey, so I don't have Sky Sports, so it looks like i won't be able to get any NFL this year (seen as how the terrestrial rights for the UK & Ireland went to channel 5, a UK only station... )

Anyways, i was wondering about live streams on the net.

    Questions:

    1. Are they available all over the place?
    2. Is quality good?
    3. Are they legal???
    4. Is there places to view matches already played?
    5. Would these same sites cover college ball too?

If anybody knows of any sites, let me know... If there's a legality issue or whatever from boards, try a PM or something...

    I'd be much obliged..

    Cheers...

There was another thread about this a couple of weeks ago:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055127200

I`ve never watched any of them so can`t answer questions about quality or legality.

as far as i know as long as something has been broadcast on television it is in the public domain in that region and that is why it is not illegal to tape things etc. as the streaming would be delayed by some amount it would already have been broadcast. i could be wrong but im pretty sure this is the case.

The UK terrestial rights went to C5. I'm sure if any of the Irish stations wanted some rights they'd get them for next to nothing. But they don't

The Sky deal is digital rights for Uk & Ireland though...

I used the streams quite a bit last year. No problems at all. TVU usually being a little bit better than sopcast.

    Not sure about the legallity

Oh, you sure??? Must send some emails to RTE, TV3 and TG4... (can't hurt)

You could subscribe to Yahoo's NFL Game Pass though it's a wee bit expensive but you do get a lot for it. You can watch any NFL game live and also watch news and highlights. However, games that are being shown on Sky are blacked out live. The fees are in USD though with the exchange rate the early bird subscription works out at €175.

    Jesus that's expensive alright...

By the way, i threw an e-mail to RTE, TV3 & TG4 enquiring as to why they don't have any coverage if, as already stated, the rights for Irish Terrestrial are available... Odd I think, seen as how nobody shows much late monday night or sunday night... We'll see what they say at least... (hopefully someone will reply by end of week)

There isnt enough demand in ireland for an irish site to bother.

Game Pass is expensive but you do get a lot for it. You can catch almost all of your teams games for a season.
