Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hope somebody can help me.

Just moved house, and have a heavily pregnant wife….

Went out on Saturday and bought a Sony Home Cinema Kit in Argos (stop sniggering at the back).

When I got home, I realised that I could connect the NTL box to it. The only inputs it has are a co-ax for the FM.

The only out is the Scart for the TV.

I’m going to TRY and return this tomorrow, and hopfully somebody can direct me to a product where I can:

Either purchase a DVD Home theatre system that will accept Cinema, or an amp & kit that will “take in the TV” & and our existing DVD player (a Phillips that has several Audio out slots.

    Thanks

nothing wrong with that piece of kit.

What you are looking for is your TV to have an audio out on it (RCA style), and hopefully your sony kit has an input (AUX). You should then be able to get surround sound. However you won't get digital surround sound, for that you need to have an optical output on the NTL box, and optical input on the home cinema system.

a cable like this is required :

Hi, thats what I thought. Have the Audio / Video out on the TV, but no AUX in on the Sony Home Cinema. So, looking to return it. Was looking for a suggested replacement piece. ie a Home Cinema thingie with an AUX in.

    All suggestions welcome

ironically, I bought a sony home cinema kit a year or two ago, think it was 250euro, and it came with a aux output.

whats the model number of the one you bought ?

Does your home cinema kit have a T.V. function on it ? Some will take the audio signal via the scart attached to the T.V.

Thanks - might try that tonight. Not sure about the Model Number.

Is it possible to get an AMP at a similar price that will allow you to plug multple units in - such as an NTL Box, a DVD player, Xbox etc.

One that doesn't have a DVD player?

(sorry to be a pain in the a$$)
