Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

where do fashion trends originate?

    this is something I have been wondering for a good while. where do people (mostly girls) know what's in fashion and what's not? I would have assumed they would follow movie actresses and singers, but I have never seen a movie actress in those god awfull Ugg boots. Neither have I seen one in those equally horrible ankle tights. So who gives girls these terrible terrible ideas? also why wear jeans AND a skirt? it defies the point of both!

    and who's idea was it that guys should wear pink? I mean come on!

    Horrible ankle tight jeans = skinny jeans = Kate Moss. And I like them! She has also done the dress and jeans thing, along with loads of others...
    Ugg boots were a few seasons ago... you're not supposed to be wearing them now :p

    Yeah its weird innit? remember not so very long ago there the Camo stuff started coming back out alot. i think someoen somewhere wears something they havent worn in ages and a load of ppl see them and think they should pull out theirs that they never threw out.
    But how those leggings came back in i do not know.....

    Fashion Trends usually start out on the Catwalk, or in Hollywood. On the Catwalk, a designer might deside, say, 70s print is in fashion, couple of months later it's filtered down from Haute Couture, to High Street to Pennys and everyone is wearing it.

    With Hollywood, designers take something that's very big at the moment (last year for example, with POTC2 coming out the piratey thing was very big so we say lots of frilly shirts and long sleeves coming out) and use that style and it filters down so people buy it because they want to look like the new "in" thing in Pop Culture.

    hardly hollywood, they aint got a clue. ur rite it does start on th catwalk in milan, paris etc with designersthrowing things into the mix then sending their stuff to the famous so it gets media coverage, then us slaves buy similar stuff to look like them!!

    real men wear pink,its a colour get over it.

    trends originate when someone sees someone htey think is cool and then copy them in the hope that they become the person and have their status.fashion greatly depends on the eprsons physical attributes.

    like i mean i saw a heavy girl wearing hot pants on a night out that went half way up her ass,not cool
