Actually I'm a southsider! Library Villas is/are behind the public library on the NCR (just about facing the old skating rink) near Doyle's corner in Phibsboro.

If you walk to the right of the building (that's the back of the library you can see in the pic) it brings you out to Madras Place, facing the old State cinema and the War of Independence memorial.

Oops... someone dumped some pictures on my head -- sorry for the interruption.

Thery're all familiar to me, Nos 2 & 3 in particular, but darned if I can come up with a name. I think No1 isn't an asses roar from the Mater hospital and I'm thinking of the Croke Park area with No4.

    But I'm probably wrong. :o

No 1 is a good bit up from the Mater and the suggestion is way off on 4 :)

Is no. 1 St. Ignatius Road? Or one of those streets up that direction, they all look the same

    2. Moosre street Lane

    4. Hanlons Corner

    Random Guesses:rolleyes:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,992 ✭✭✭✭gurramok

    Nope, try again flynnc8 :)

2 is a back street a few minutes walk from the Kings Inns with flats nearby.

4 is a side lane not far from 1, nearest street would do as an answer as lane has no name :)

Is it one of the back lanes in the little Ulster enclave off North King Street?

  • Registered Users Posts: 907 ✭✭✭Rashers

gurramok. Do you have the whole pic of No 2, or is that it? It was in that lane that I first learned to drive a motorbike many many years ago and I'd love to see the lane again.

I'll have a dig into my database - give me a couple of minutes.

Henrietta Place which runs south of Henrietta Street into North King Street. Picture taken facing north AFAIK.

    HenriettaPlace.jpg

Henrietta Lane which is north of Henrietta Street (picture taken looking south - Henrietta Place in distance).

    HenriettaLane.jpg

Yarnhall Street/Henrietta Place junction (looking north).

Thanks a million Wish. I'm truly obliged. I could write reams about those photos but I don't want to hijack the thread. I'll just say that the red bricked wall with the balconies used to be the rear of what was a famous brothel run by the even more famous Dolly Fosset (or Fawcett). ;)

No, u need to go further north, up the N2. It's very near an area already answered!

I'd only be guessing - Monck Place?

There are several lanes that look similar to that around Dalymount. So I'm guessing St Peters Rd or Connaught St.
