I think it might be Marshe's Library in St Patrick's Close.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,993 ✭✭✭✭Wishbone Ash

Presumably, as the pic shows a nameplate, the building is at a junction or corner?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,624 ✭✭✭Dancor

Is it St Wurburgh street church?

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,993 ✭✭✭✭Wishbone Ash

Perhaps it's the former Dublin Working Boys' Technical School/Home on Lord Edward Street now known as Kinlay House?

    KinlayHouse.jpg

...........or is it part of the Iveagh Trust Buildings on Bride Street?

The building I posted above (Kinlay House) is also on Fishamble Street (to the left of the pic). I think it may be called Harding Hotel or something like that.

Yes people had the building, but no-one named the street. I wasnt too sure of the name of the building myself that why I held off for the street name.
One of Dublin's oldest streets apparently.

It's Chancery Street alright but isn't it the Metropolitan Court (Childrens' Court),next door to the Bridewell. (Perhaps the courthouse is also called 'The Bridewell'?)

Sorry, should have specified I meant the courthouse.
Yep, the courthouse is called "The Bridewell", thought that was clear

Is Number 3 the rebuilt part of the Central Bank along Dame Street?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,909 ✭✭✭europerson

Number 4 is on O'Connell Street, beside that sports bar place, I think.

    2. Heuston station entrance to the road that leads to the car park

    5. Parnell st. up beside Capel St.

Well you're in the right area but the building houses a specific institution and I don't think it's part of the central bank.

    Yup! Well done.
    2. Heuston station entrance to the road that leads to the car park
Yes (it's the exit from the station).)
    5. Parnell st. up beside Capel St.
    Yes, well done. :)

Isn't it the building just to the right of the Central Bank on Dame St?

Can't remember who resides there...an insurance crowd or something like that??

It's the Irish Stock Exchange. ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,909 ✭✭✭europerson

Sorry, I hate to be pedantic, but I think that building is part of the CB: it was rebuilt to a design by Sam Stephenson using stone from an earlier building. The Stock Exchange is located nearby (just down Anglesea Street on the eastern side). Maybe I am wrong, but I bring the credentials of being an economics student. The CB canteen is in underneath that building to the rear.

    EDIT: link

THe ISE website seems to agree.

Edit: Kind of beaten to it.:)

Apologies if I've offended anyone! :o

I'm sure there is a plaque on the side with 'Stock Exchange' on it but perhaps it's an old sign put up for decorative/artistic merit.

You were correct in the initial location anyway europerson.

(With all the pics I've posted I'm bound to get one or two wrong!)
