Hey , a freind wants some edits done to a pdf file , the pdf includes text and graphics -- the change to graphic is easy , and i have the text changes to be made -- i've never edited a pdf before , so opened in ps , and it all came in 1 layer where i can't chage specific objects -- is there some pdf editor i need , so as to change the different objects -- it would have been grand if it was a psd -- any help help on this much appreciated .

Adobe Illustrator would be the easiest way, or Acrobat Professional.
PDFs aren't designed for editing as their a end use format for compiled documents. If you open I PDF in PS it rasterises the vector art including text, where as Illustrator and Acrobat Pro open it as is and lett you edit the various elements such as text and vector graphics.

You can get a 30 day trial of Illustrator CS3 from Adobe.com

Or you could get acrobat as a trial version from the internet for free.
What about third parrty PDF editors? Have you tried to search the web? There must be something...

Yeah the trial of acrobat would be perfect too, but illustrator is more fun!
