Just wondering where have people had the best results in their experience selling?
As I recall I sold my last car on carzone, but I'm not 100% on that.

The car is a 2000 passat, looking for 6000 ono for it, so that's the price range. Its in the free buy and sell, and of course adverts. Next step is either Carzone or Autotrader - autotrader fetches way way better prices, but is more expensive.
Carzone, however, has been ridiculously slow for me lately so that's putting me off.

    Opinions?

Use usedcars.ie, it's carzones database on a different faster server :D

Wow that's way better. Still, the fact that carzone.ie is slow in the first place is pretty piss poor given that's the one they advertise.

    I sold on adverts.ie within 24 hours

    - Its excellent for creating a free mini web site for yourself. Words unlimited.

    - You can ref to it else where with the small url thingy

As for carzone.ie - slow server city.

I think the answer is advertise everywhere free for sure.
www.buyandsell.ie - Its easy for buyer to search - consider a paid ad which will go to print as well.
    www.gumtree.ie

Then pick one good www for $ - Two if the budget stretches to it.

Its a full time job selling a car.

I found the traditional papers much quicker than websites tbh. I assume more people read papers than look up ads on a PC.

    The way I see it,
people lookin on buy and sell are lookin for a cheap deal,
it's mostly dreamers that buy autotrader and just want to look at car porn.
Carzone is the one that most potential buyers would search first.

Autotrader is rubbish if you're south of the border, most of it seems to be northern cars. Carzone is where I would advertise - I bought my previous car through it. If I was selling a banger i'd put it in the B&S. I'd put any kind of car on adverts.ie - you may not sell it there but like a previous poster said you have loads of room for your description and can post a bunch of photos for free, so nothing to lose.

I would strongly disagree with that..... With a traditional paper you don't get half as much info, you have nothing to compare against and you have no photos of the car!

personally rather than sitting on a bus or in a cafe and looking through autotrader, I'd check out the carzone mobile site!
